When you’re installing your Linear security products, one of the main elements is installing your Linear wireless motion detector. Passive infrared motion detectors work by sensing changes in temperature with that of anything that moves across it within their range of vision. Motion detectors are some of the Linear security products that can really upgrade your security system. But you need to place them carefully, or they won’t be effective. Most of your motion detectors include a swivel-mounting bracket that lets you change the side-to-side orientation of the detector to get the best coverage. The detector has a specific range that determines how many feet it can monitor.

When you’re installing your Linear security products, you can mount motion detectors on the wall or on a counter. Most manufacturers recommend that you mount the motion detector about six or seven feet up the wall, making sure that it’s horizontal rather than angled down or up. Try to also place and aim the motion detector so that anyone entering the area will walk across its field of vision rather than directly toward the detector. You’ll want to mark the mounting location on the wall, install the necessary batteries and label the monitor with a zone indicator, mount your Linear detector using screws or double-sided tape, and activate your detector using the instructions provided with your Linear security products.

When you’re installing your Linear security products, you’ll want to be sure to know that motion detectors are an important part of your Linear security products total security alarm system. They are a security safety net that will detect an intruder should the interloper be able to gain entry and avoid your other security measures. You shouldn’t have much trouble installing the other parts of your Linear security products.

Lamp modules by Linear work much like light timers in how you set up the system. You should be sure that you don’t hook up your lamp module to a lamp that can be controlled by a wall on and off switch. In most cases, you can hook up the lamp module by turning the lamp’s on and off switch to the on position and then plugging the lamp into the lamp module. You then plug the module into the wall switch. Panic buttons and key-chain panic transmitters are other Linear security products that are common parts of wireless systems. Most panic buttons are single-unit transmitters that plug into a wall socket.
